Participants are invited to indicvate preferences among the following or other topics, so that the program can be adapted to their needs.

  1 Tips for research designs - Various types of research design
  2 Making claims, formulating hypotheses
  3 Exercises in critical reading - Workshop format: A paper will have been read in advance by participants, and will be discussed collectively.
Suggestion: Tymoczko 2002. To prepare for the session, read the relevant article in Gile et al. 2001. (p. 23-38)
  4 Data analysis
  5 The principles of statistical inferencing: what are all these tests? What is statistical significance? What are the underlying principles, and how are they applied in research, in connection with the problems caused by behavior variability ? A soft approach.
